setup…..have now set this up on my Iphone 3GS Ipad2 and Imac, to print from the Imac its loaded through the software provided with the printer just make sure to register the scanner and printer with the mac in the original setup, and there is a free App (canon easy photoprint) available for the iphone and ipad. Setup in general is fine and easy it needs a wee tweak as its not 100% set up for Lion yet but its not difficult, the Ipad and iphone setup was a doddle ! the printer found my wireless network with ease and I was up and running on all three in no time. I cant coment yet on the ink usage as I have not used it enough to date.
well Thats me sorted out with a new wireless printer. After taking on board all your views and doing some online research I binned the option of a HP printer as all said they were problematic and not worth the money. I then did some homework on canon all in one printers and eventually went for the Pixma MG6150 which I installed over the weekend, Firslty it cost £99 on Amazon which was reduced from £130 so a bit of a bargain. This is a six ink machine and as such the replacement ink is about £50 for a full set of individual tanks, but I wanted it for photography printing and the cost was not the most important issue for me as you do pay for what you get. so now for the verdict…….. Excellent !!!! when using Canon photo papers the quality is outstanding, it takes all paper sizes up to A4 in the back media feed and also has a lower cassette for standard copy paper, prints onto white top DVD’s using a plastic additional device which slips in to the printer.
As it uses two blacks and a grey cartridge Black and white images are as they should be, with no grey / colour tinge but sharp and crisp !
Scanning is simple and very good in all areas
So My conclusion….if you are thinking of buying a wireless all in one printer stay away from the HP options on the Apple site, they seem to be problematic and not good value, Look at the canon options and pick the best one for your needs, Ink can be more expensive to replace but that won’t matter when you see the acheived results
